Artesian man crashes Camaro, narrowly misses child fishing along road

An Artesian man was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence and reckless driving after crashing his vehicle and nearly running over a child fishing along the roadway on Indian Village Road in Mitchell.
Trevor Wormstadt, 23, crashed the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro into an embankment, sending the vehicle airborne, hitting two trees before coming to a stop. Mitchell Police reported when he lost control, Wormstadt nearly struck a child who was fishing along the roadside. The child was uninjured.
Wormstadt was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. His passenger, Jake Melius, 23 of Miranda, was not wearing a seat belt but was uninjured.
