The Town N’ Kountry Kids 4-H Blue Group met on Feb. 19, at the Community Center in Letcher.
Twenty-nine members answered roll call “What new project are you going to try?” The meeting was called to order by Brady Larson. The pledges were led by Tori Hoffman and Payton Uecker. Treasury report was given by Noah Wormstadt, and a motion to approve the report was made by Dean Hanson and Bryce Larson. Motion carried. The secretary’s report was approved as read.
Grandparent cards were sent for Valentine’s Day. Playground equipment for behind the Community Center was discussed at the meeting.
There was a Shooting Sports update. Livestock judging contest report from the Sioux Falls school was given by Ashlee Hanson and Delaney Zoss.
Fruit sales were discussed with each family to sell five boxes or more. Letcher Fun Days are scheduled for June 9-11. Motion was made by Miley Adams to sell raffle tickets on a quilt donated by Connie Farris and Janet Maeschen for a Paisley King fundraiser. The quilt will be given away at Letcher Fun Days.
Upcoming dates: Fruit sales are due March 7; Leader/Parent meeting Feb. 25 at Janet’s house; A l workshop registration due March 10; March 4 – Market beef weigh in, April 1 – Regional leader/parent meeting in Winner.
The next meeting is March 17 at 7 p.m. in Letcher. The hosts and hostesses are the Amy Moody family, the Fridley family, and the Adams family. Talks were by Michael Hoffman on how to make a heat warmer from a basketball sock, Kenlie Fridley on Farm Safety, and Alexis Kelly on a non-sewing accessory item.
The group collected garbage around Letcher’s main street before the meeting.
The Cloverbuds made St. Patrick’s Day cards for the grandparents. Older members enjoyed a circle activity and discussed the need to have fun in winning and losing. Ice cream was served for lunch.
