Donald Druse

Woonsocket

Donald “Don” Dean Druse, 89, of Woonsocket, passed away on April 17, 2021, at his home.

Don was born June 26, 1931, to Floyd and Laura (Neelen) Druse in Mitchell and grew up on the farm southwest of Woonsocket.

He graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1949. He married Annie Smith at DeSmet in 1951. They lived in San Francisco, Calif., while he was in the marines and returned to Woonsocket, where he worked at the Farmers Union/Cenex for over 35 years.

Don and Annie had two children. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and his garden.

Don is survived by his two children, Gary Druse of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and JoAnne (Steven) Druse-Recktenwald of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan (Donnie) Podhradsky of Pierre and Patsy Duguay of Cranesville, Pa.; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Woonsocket

Donna Lee Ohlrogge, 84, of Woonsocket, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the Prairie View Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Eventide Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 7, from 5-7 p.m., with a praayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the Basham Funeral Home in Woonsocket. Rev. L. Scott Spiehs and Rev. Richard Weeman will officiate.

Donna was born April 2, 1937, to Melburne and Buela (Rush) Cummins in Kimball. She attended grade and high school there.

Donna married Ray Dean Ohlrogge on April 29, 1955. They lived in Pukwana for two years and then Chamberlain until December 1961. They then moved to Kimball, where Ray ran the Mobil Service Station until 1966. They then moved to Woonsocket where she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband until retirement in 1999.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Dennis (Yvonne) of Huron and Keith (Leslie) of Woonsocket; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and brothers, Gene and Richard.

Mary A. Torgerson, 84, of New Underwood, formerly of Redfield, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Home in New Underwood.

Visitation will be Monday, May 3, from 5-7 p.m., at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, at the Redfield United Methodist Church in Redfield.  Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Artesian.  Pastor Melissa Rowenhorst will officiate. 

For those unable to attend in person, the funeral service will be live-streamed to the funeral home’s website. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).
