Harold Joerger

Aitkin, Minn.

Harold J. Joerger, 87, of Aitkin, Minn., died Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin.

Funeral Mass was Monday, Dec. 30, at Saint James Catholic Church in Aitkin. Father David Forsman officiated. Burial with military honors was at Saint Thomas Cemetery in Aitkin. Visitation was held with a Rosary service at Sorenson-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin. Visitation continued one hour prior to the service at the church.

Harold was born June 14, 1932, in Forestburg to Xavier and Ellen (Larson) Joerger. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Henritta Joyce Devor on April 14, 1956, in Detroit, Mich. They lived in South Dakota and then moved to Minnesota, where they farmed and raised their nine children in Waukenabo Township, Aitkin County, Minn. He was a member of the VFW, The Knights of Columbus and Saint James Catholic Church of Aitkin. Harold loved to visit with his family and friends.

Harold is survived by his children and their spouses, John Joerger, James Joerger, Mary (Greg) Handt, Rosann (John) Brey, Brenda Joerger, Joseph Joerger, Suzann Everson and Joshua (Becky) Joerger; son-in-law, Jim Berg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Clarence, Clem, Loretta, Bertha and Eleanor; and many special relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, “Joyce,” on Nov. 24, 2002; his second wife, June Pearson; daughter, Henritta Berg; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Joerger.

Buell Jones

Gillette, Wyo.

Buell Earl Jones, 81, passed away on Dec. 25, 2019, at the Close to Home Hospice Hospitality House of natural causes.

A memorial service for Buell was held Monday, Dec. 30, at Campbell County Senior Center in Gillette, Wyo.

Buell Jones was born March 14, 1938, in Huron to Floyd and Irma Jones. He was raised on a small farm outside of Forestburg and graduated from Forestburg High School in 1956. He and Marlene Nelson met in high school and were married on July 3, 1958. After retirement from the South Dakota Highway Department, Buell worked for Schwans and Van Dykes in Woonsocket. Besides playing cards, camping and fishing, Buell loved volunteering at the Campbell County Senior Center in Gillette, Wyo., where he served on the Board of Directors.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marlene (Nelson) Jones; two sons, Gary (Kathy) Jones of Gillette, Wyo., and Glade (Carol) Jones of Burlington, Wash.; his sister, Carolyn Gose; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

James Busch

Woonsocket

James H. Busch, 81, of Woonsocket and formerly of Alpena, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, at Prairie View Healthcare Center in Woonsocket. 

Services are pending at this time.

James Herman Busch was born on May 11, 1938, to parents William H. and Neva P. (Holforty) Busch in Redwood Falls, Minn. Jim entered the U.S. Army on May 26, 1955, and proudly served until his honorable discharge on May 23, 1958.

Jim married Lillian Miedema on Nov. 29, 1958, in Pipestone, Minn.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jim was a carpenter and owned his own business.

Jim is survived by his wife, Lillian of Huron; son, Kelly Busch of Huron; daughters, Barb (Scott) Lillethun of Des Moines, Iowa and Eva (David) Barnes of Huron; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Sharon Busch of Huron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharon; and one brother, Louie Busch.
