Mayor Chada called the meeting to order with Hohbach, Knutson, Hoffman and Ackman in attendance.
Reports:
Water/Sewer – a new lock has been placed on the water house easing access for the firemen.
Letcher Community Development Foundation – Welcome baskets are completed with a huge thanks to members of the Letcher Community Development Foundation.
A motion was made by Hoffman, seconded by Knutson, carried, to approve the financial reports as presented.
A motion was made by Knutson, seconded by Hoffman, carried, to approve the August minutes as read.
Old Business: We are still looking for someone to clean the community center.
New Business: A motion by Hoffman, seconded by Knutson, carried, to allow the Sanborn County Zoning to change the height limit to 16” and to specify steel siding for sheds.
A motion by Knutson, seconded by Hoffman, carried, to request $29,000 in appropriations.
Much discussion was held on the Fire Bar and Fire Radios not working properly.
A motion was made by Hoffman, seconded by Knutson to pay the following claims:
Santel Communications $28.29, Clayton’s Repair $506.32 Grass, Heiman Equipment $515.65 equipment, Dakota Two-way $933.05 radios, Buckshots $23.64 fuel;
WATER/SEWER: USDA $156.00, Dakota Rural Water $2749.95, Tessier’s $225.94 repairs, South Dakota Department of Revenue $13.00 testing, NorthWestern Energy $23.59, Santel Communications $39.23, Wages $471.75, Postmaster $45.00;
GENERAL: Miedema Sanitation $160.00 garbage, Brooks Oil $82.40 fuel, Bailey Metal $27.44 repairs, Menard’s $1.33 supplies, Santel Communications $35.01, Sanborn Weekly Journal $92.10 printing, NorthWestern Energy $18.76 Rossy $253.18 Community Center $334.39 street, Letcher Community Development Foundation $300.00 donation, Buckshots $80.53 fuel, T. Moody $75.00 mopping, Payroll $1,818.77.
The next meeting will be held on October 5, 2012.
