On Friday, Dec. 7 Don Hegdahl, representing the Mitchell VFW, and Jeannie Hauser of the VFW Auxiliary came to Sanborn Central to announce that Kayla Olson’s Patriot’s Pen essay has been sent on to Distict competition.
Her essay on the topic “What Would I Tell America’s Founding Fathers” was one of nine entries. More than $92,000 in savings bonds are awarded at the state and national level.
