This year many students performed oral interp pieces at Sanborn Central.
There was first a contest at the school.  Paula Larson and Janet Maeschen judged the  students in the different categories.
The first place winners at the local contest were: Kelbi Dean in oratory, Jessica Schmit in serious drama, Shelby Selland in humorous, April Farmer in poetry, Nick Miller and Tucker Kingsbury in duet, Amberiah Smith in serious and Shelby Selland, Jessica Schmit, Hannah Spelbring, Ashley Schmit and Morgan Selland in reader’s theater. These students advanced to the district contest in Mitchell.
From there, Shelby Selland advanced to the region contest.
Second and third place winners at the school contest were: Allysha Duffel and Ashley Schmit in humorous, Isaiah Kruger in poetry, Logan Effling, Josh Feiner, Hannah Spelbring and Haley Degen in duet and Tamra Mann in serious. These students advanced to the CBH contest at DWU in Mitchell.
Some students also attended an invitational in Florence.
Participating in oral interp is good for students to practice public speaking and we are very proud of all the students’ accomplishments.
