By Dorothy Weinberger
The Veterans Day banquet and program was held Sunday, Nov. 11 in the Artesian Community Center. A large crowd of 89 in all were served a meal at 12:30 p.m. The dinner was catered by Annie Podhradsky and Lisa Snedeker, both of Woonsocket.
Karen Lambert, commander of the Artesian American Legion Jackson-Hall Post 47, conducted the program. The speaker was Troy Magneson of Mitchell. He is a member of the Sons of Legion Post 18, Mitchell, and also a Shriner. Lara Brink sang the National Anthem. All veterans attending were honored.
If you meet a veteran on the street, stop and shake his or her hand and say thank you for their service to this great country. It is more important now than ever.
As people were leaving after the program many stopped to say thank you for a great dinner.
