The Artesian First Lutheran Church Women’s group met at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28 at the home of Nancy Sullivan.  Eight people were present including Pastor LeShea and one visitor.
Judy Wormstadt opened the meeting with devotions and led the Bible study titled “Hungry Hearts.”  The business meeting followed.
The Secretary’s report was read and approved. Pastor LeShea Avery and Judy Wormstadt reported on the Synodical Convention that they recently attended in Sioux Falls.
The Snack Pack Program is scheduled to start as a pilot project for the 2013/2014 Sanborn Central school year. A list of needed food items will be in the church bulletin and newsletter. Contact people are Nancy Sullivan and Tambi Wormstadt for First Lutheran, Wanda Effling and Mary Unterbrunner for St. Charles Catholic, and Wanda Swenson and Dawn Rassel for Forestburg Lutheran. Judy Wormstadt will serve as the treasurer.
On July 17, Joyce Olson has graciously offered to arrange a tour of the Cathedral on the Prairie at Hoven followed by a meeting at her cabin on the river.
An outreach project for July is writing letters to men and women in the armed services.  Addresses of any local people who are serving are needed.
Other topics discussed included making a blanket for the Spelbring baby, sewing dresses out of pillow cases for girls in Africa, a quilt for the Joy Ranch Quilt Auction, school k37its which are due by Sept. 1, the Love Feast and upcoming events to meet with the Bishop.
The Lord’s Prayer was prayed, table blessing sung and lunch was served by hostess Nancy Sullivan.
