The Artesian First Lutheran Church women’s group met at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the church with eight members present. President Judy Wormstadt opened the meeting with devotions titled “Five Key Principles of Walking the Talk.”
The  Bible study titled “Hannah, a Promise Keeper,” was led by Jerolyn Dean.
The business meeting followed the Bible study. The treasurer’s report and secretary’s minutes were read and approved.
Business discussed included an update on the Snack Pack Program, which starts in September, the results of the Joy Ranch Quilt Auction (the quilt made by Judy Wormstadt raised $375 – thank you Judy!), additional addresses for local people serving in the military for our letter writing project and quilting for Lutheran World Relief.
The annual Unity Service will be at Immanuel on Sept. 15. The Fall Retreat is Sept. 17 in Badger and Pastor LeShea will be leading the Bible study. Those who wish to attend the Fall Retreat should contact Judy Wormstadt for details.
Other upcoming dates to remember include: farewell for John and Arlene Kelly on Sept. 29 following the 9:30 a.m. service; and the Harvest Festival on Oct. 6 at an 11 a.m. service.
The meeting ended with the Lord’s Prayer,  the table blessing and lunch served by hostess Jerolyn Dean.
