Local Modern Woodmen members honor Hometown Hero

Stacey Malde, local Modern Woodmen chapter activities coordinator, presents Paula Linke with the Hometown Heroes Program award.

Local volunteer Paula Linke, Woonsocket, was recognized for countless hours of service to the community on Aug. 19 by local Modern Woodmen of America members.
Linke was honored for her hours of community service through Modern Woodmen’s Hometown Heroes Program. As part of this program, members of the Woonsocket Modern Woodmen chapter presented the recipient with a certificate and a $100 award grant, to be presented to the charitable organization of the honoree’s choice.
“Volunteers form the foundation of a strong community,” says Stacey Malde, local Modern Woodmen chapter activities coordinator. “Modern Woodmen’s Hometown Hero program gives us the chance to thank those who selflessly give their time to make the world a better place. Paula is one of those people you can always count on for leadership and dependable help. She gives of herself through the local Modern Woodmen Chapter, 4-H Club, Baseball Association, Church Adult and Youth activities and American Legion, just to name a few.
“We thank Paula for her service and also want to acknowledge her husband and four children who sacrifice their time with her too, so she can give back to the community. The City of Woonsocket is blessed to have such a wonderful family to lead by example.”
Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, chapters provide opportunities to take part in social activities and community service projects to meet local needs.
