Woonsocket – April Johnson, First National Insurance along with Jim Hegg, Hegg Insurance, both Trusted Choice® agents, presented  $750 in grant money to the Town & Country Fire Department awarded by the Independent Insurance Agents of South Dakota and the Trusted Choice® Foundation.
“This grant will help fund some of the great work being done by our friends in the volunteer fire services,” said April Johnson, First National Insurance, Trusted Choice® Agent and member of the Independent Insurance Agents of South Dakota.
Funds awarded through the Trusted Choice® Volunteer Fire Department Grant Program are used to purchase fire safety equipment and to establish community fire safety programs. Town & Country Fire Department will use the grant money to conduct two Essentials of Fire Fighting Classes.
“Making sure that volunteer fire departments are properly funded to have the safety equipment they need is vital, especially since the first responders to tragic events are often volunteer fire fighters,” said Johnson.
