The Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Ebersdorfer presiding. Other members present were: P. Larson, Blindauer, Ohlrogge and S. Larson. Also present was Auditor Larson. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Ohlrogge, to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY
Lee Goergen, Highway Supervisor/Weed Supervisor met with the Board. Mike Brosnan requested a permit for two approaches on SW/4 28 108-61. Motion by S. Larson, seconded by P. Larson, to allow the approaches. Motion carried. Brosnan also requested a permit for an approach on NW/4 36-108-61. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by S. Larson, to allow the approach. Motion carried.
Quotes for 6,000 gallons of propane for the 2013-2014 heating year were Brooks Oil at $1.209 and Farmers Alliance at $1.26. Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to accept the low quote of Brooks Oil. Half will be paid in 2013 and the other half in 2014. Motion carried.
BEADLE COUNTY JUVENILLE DETENTION CENTER
An agreement for custodial care of juveniles was presented from Beadle County Sheriff. The charge will be $180.00 per day or any part thereof. Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to enter into this agreement for the year of 2014. Motion carried.
SUPPLEMENT BUDGET
Motion by Blindauer, seconded by P. Larson, to supplement the drainage budget in the amount of $1,305.70 for engineering on Ditch 14. Motion carried.
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT GRANT
Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Ohlrogge, to accept the 2013 Emergency Management State and Local Agreement for $5,709.18 which is a 50 percent grant with matching funds. Motion carried.
AMBULANCE BILL
Motion by P. Larson, seconded by S. Larson, to accept $500.00 for an ambulance bill for Devan Key and declare the bill paid in full. Motion carried.
