The Woonsocket Water Festival Committee has finalized the schedule for the 2013 Fourth of July celebration. This year’s theme is “Unsung Heroes” and the schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, July 3
6 p.m.: Alumni Banquet – Tickets Available at Express Stop.
9 p.m.: Firemen’s Dance.
Thursday, July 4
9-10:30 a.m.: Fishing Derby.
9-10:55 a.m.: Parade Registration  – at old Library.
11 a.m.: Parade – Theme: “Unsung Heroes”.
12 noon: FFA barbecue – in school gym immediately following parade;
• Chicken Cook-off – Skeeter’s, Main Street;
• T-Shirts, Cookbooks, History Books & School Bricks on sale.
12-4 p.m.: Car Show – Skeeter’s, Main Street.
1 p.m.: Bean Bag Tournament – Rowdy Rooster, Main Street.
1:30 p.m.: Kamp’s Critters Kids Wagon Train;            • Volleyball Tournament –   north side of lake.
2 p.m.: 3-on-3 Slamdunk Competition – north side of lake;
• Canoe races – north side of lake;
• Bingo and ice cream –     Community Center ;
• Open swimming for all.
4 p.m.: Swimming competition – swimming pool
5 p.m.: Turtle races
6:30 p.m.: 5K Run (or Walk!)
10 p.m. or Dark: Fireworks – detonated by the Wide Awake Hose Co. & Sponsored by Woonsocket Water Festival
The Wessington Springs Fourth of July parade begins at 2 p.m. for those who would like to attend.
