“Blackhawk Nation” enjoys pancakes to support Tanna Kingsbury

The 4-H building at Forestburg was filled with the aroma of pancakes and sausage Sunday as residents from Sanborn County communities came to support Tanna Kingsbury and her family with her fight against Ewing’s Sarcoma.
The benefit was sponsored by the Letcher American Legion Post #93 and they were assisted by the Town ‘n Kountry Kids and Union Farmhands 4-H clubs and Joel and Dawn Rassel of Woonsocket.
Since all food was donated, the entire proceeds went to the Kingsbury family to help defray their expenses while Tanna is in treatment. Approximately $4,000 was raised at the benefit, and Modern Woodman of America agreed to match up to $2,500.
“Taverns for Tanna,” a barbecue meal benefit was also held last week at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell and an “I Believe, We Believe” 5K fundraiser for Tanna will also be held Saturday morning in Letcher.
