Outside plant technician Jay Ball joined the construction crew of Sanborn Telephone Cooperative in September 1983 and recently celebrated his 30th anniversary with Santel Communications.
Ball started on the construction crew, but soon moved to the plant to help retire old aerial cable. Within a year he was in the dispatch office and spent 16 years there before moving outside again to be one of Santel’s installer/repairmen.
Ball graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1979 and worked in carpentry/construction before coming to Santel. He said he has received on-the-job training in all his work.
