Kogel to challenge Goergen in City Council election

Mike Kogel is challenging current Woonsocket City Council member Brandon Goergen in an election Tuesday, April 8.
Goergen is currently serving on the council representing Ward II, along with Don Schmidt. The seat is for a two-year term.
Those unopposed in their positions are Richard Reider, Ward I, Jim Steichen, Ward III, and Lindy Peterson, mayor. Each are two-year terms.
The Woonsocket Community Center will serve as the polling place and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the date of the election.
In the event of bad weather, the election will be postponed one week.
