The Town of Artesian Council met on January 6, 2016, in regular session at the Artesian Community Center.  Council Member Effling called the meeting to order with Council Member Danek, Finance Officer Steele and T. Fridley present.
The minutes of the December 2, 2015, meeting were read; motion to approve by Danek, seconded by Effling; motion carried. Finance Officer reports were read and approval of vouchers; motion to approve by Danek, seconded by Effling; motion carried. Following vouchers were presented for the month:

Garbage/Sewer: Reviewed accounts receivable and discussion was held on past due account.  Motion by Danek, seconded by Effling, to turn over any customer whose account is 90 days or older past due to a collection agency. Motion carried.
New Business:
The following offices will become vacant due to the expiration of the present terms of office of Kurt Effling Council Member – one three-year term. Motion by Danek, seconded by Effling, to join District III association. Motion carried. Motion by Danek, seconded by Effling, to do Dakota Pump Annual Inspection. Motion carried. Motion by Danek, seconded by Effling, to remove Molly Ebersdorfer from city accounts. Motion carried. Motion by Danek to accept CorTrust Bank, Artesian, SD, to be the regular depository; regular meeting to be the first Wednesday of each month at the Artesian Community Center at 7:30 p.m.; Sanborn Weekly Journal will be the official publication; regular meeting attendance $40/meeting; finance officer salary $500/month; head maintenance $14/hour; part-time maintenance $8/hour; head lifeguard $9/hour; lifeguard $8/hour; mileage .485 cents/mile.Price was set as $50/hour for wages/tractor rent for snow removal, seconded by Effling.  Motion carried.
The next meeting will be February 3, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Artesian Community Center.
There being no further business brought before the Council, motion by Danek, seconded by Effling, meeting adjourned. Motion carried.
