New pastor to be installed at Prairie Lutheran Parish

The Rev. Josh Knudsen will be installed as new pastor of the Prairie Lutheran Parish during a ceremony Sunday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Iroquois. Bishop David Zellmer, Sioux Falls, from the South Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will be leading the service.
The Prairie Lutheran Parish includes Immanuel Lutheran of rural Iroquois, First Lutheran of Artesian and Trinity Lutheran of Carthage.
Rev. Josh and his wife, Marti, have two children, Mahalia, 2-1/2, and Brynja, 3 months. He is a native of Rapid City and holds bachelor degrees in religion and philosophy. He received a master of divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. His wife is self-employed as director for Thirty-One Gifts, and is the Region 3 Camping Network Coordinator.
Of his ministry, Rev. Knudsen states, “It is only by God’s grace that I serve God’s church. I am reminded that it is not I, but God, who has acted for the sake and the salvation of the world.”
