The Town ‘N Kountry Kids 4-H Club Blue Group met on April 10 at the Letcher Community Center in Letcher. The meeting was called to order by President Cole Moody. Pledges were led by Torrie Hoffman and Payton Uecker.
Twenty-six members answered the roll call topic “Favorite Cartoon Character.” The Secretary’s report was read by Ashlee Hanson and was approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given by Brady Larson and approved.
Thelma Kneen made a motion to table donating money to the SD State Fair Foundation until the next meeting, seconded by Janet Maeschen, motion carried. May baskets will be made and delivered to grandparents in the community.
A sign-up sheet was passed around for members to sign up to work the Doug Hanson sales, club T-shirts were in and passed out. Ashlee Hanson, Kara Wormstadt and Ellie Evans talked about what they learned at the babysitting workshop. The club skillathon winner for naming kitchen utensils was Noah Wormstadt.
New business: Community Service activity will be April 16 cleaning around the town of Letcher. On June 11, there will be a bean bag tournament and chili cook off at Jake’s Lounge with proceeds going to 4-H for improvements at the 4-H grounds. Discussion was held on a club activity that day.
Special foods workshop, 4-H camp and other upcoming dates were mentioned.
Talks and demonstrations were given by Payton Uecker on “How to Make Picture Frames from Popsicle Sticks”; Kenlie Fridley on “How to make a Doll Chair out of PVCC Pipe”; and Noah Wormstadt on “Cooking Utensils.”
Next month’s meeting is scheduled for May 20 at 6 p.m. in the Letcher Community Center. Lunch will be served by Cole and Clay Moody, Bryce, Brooklyn and Brady Larson and Noah and Kara Wormstadt. Members are encouraged to give their demonstations.
Lunch was served by Alexis Kelly, Bailey, Maddie and Mason Moody, and Keaton and Kenlie Fridley. Racing Tic-Tac-Toe was enjoyed by all for recreation.
