The Town ‘N Kountry Kids Blue Group met at the 4-H building in Forestburg on Oct. 2. The meeting was called to order by President Cole Moody. The pledges were led by Miley Adams and Kenlie Fridley. The roll call topic of, “If something besides rain or snow could fall from the sky, what would you want it to be?” was answered by 32 members. New members are Sidney Richardson, Zayleigh Alatta and Evelyn Alatta. The secretary’s report was read by Ellie Evans, and Clay Moody made a motion to pay current bills. Committee reports: Cole and Chloe on National 4-H Week, Oct. 2-7. Grandparents: Ellie will be sending Halloween cards.
Old business: Record books need to be turned in on Monday. The application to decorate a Christmas tree at the Capitol has been completed. Horse Safety Day was a success. The club served lunch.
New business: Recognition Event will be Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. Every family is to bring two dozen cookies and a potluck dish to share. Online enrollment was discussed and assistance will be given to new members. Club goals were brainstormed: improve talks, more club judging and activities. The club goals and officers will be selected at the November meeting. American Education Week will be Nov. 13-19. The committee is: Ellie Evans, Alexis Kneen, Brady Larson, Toby Kneen, Mason Moody and Kenlie Fridley. They will present ideas at the next meeting.
The club voted to host a Halloween Event on Sunday, Oct. 30, in the Letcher Community Center. A parade of costumes will be held at 4 p.m. The Trunk or Treat will start at 5 p.m. Local businesses and people are encouraged to participate in this event. Ellie Evans and Tori Hoffman are on the committee to plan this event.
The club painted pumpkins for families and to deliver to shut-ins. Several visitors were in attendance. The next meeting will be Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Letcher Community Center. Lunch will be served by Tori, Sidney Richardson, Toby, Caleb Kneen and Riley Kneen. Talks will be given by Ellie and Brady.
