Mary Jean Nelson, 88, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Artesian.
Jean was born Sept. 27, 1928, in Sioux Falls, to Loretta and Lawrence Cote. She married Milo B. Nelson on Feb. 17, 1946. She was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Bettie Sanders of Littlefield, Texas, and Beckie Truitt of Pearland, Texas; a son, Brad Nelson of Kingwood, Texas; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and Bebe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milo; daughters, Mary Nelson and Barbara Gray; a foster son, John Detour; grandson, Adam Nelson; sisters, Inez, Betty, Renee and Eva; and brothers, Dean and Donald.
Arrangements are under the care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
