Tim B. Diede, 56, of Letcher, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Avera McKennan Hospital.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m., at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell with burial at Trinity Cemetery in rural Letcher. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m.
Tim Diede, son of Marvin and Carolyn (Droz) Diede, was born July 23, 1960, in Miller. He moved with his family to Chamberlain, and in 1969, to rural Letcher. He graduated from Letcher High School in 1978.
He was united in marriage with Lori Northrup on June 20, 1980, and they had four children. The couple later divorced, allowing two more children to fill his life.
Tim was a hardworking, loving person with a zest for life. Tim’s last employer was AKG. He enjoyed being with his friends and family, shooting guns, riding motorcycles and playing chess.
He is survived by his children, Dan Diede of Woonsocket, Nick Diede of Mt. Vernon, Rebecca (Ryan) Edwards of Letcher, and Daxton Diede and Deric Diede, both of Miller; seven grandchildren; his parents, Marvin and Carolyn Diede of Mesa, Ariz.; and a sister, Chris Diede of Letcher.
Tim was preceded in death by his son, Andrew; a brother, Ted; and his grandparents.
