Woonsocket School hosted Jr. REAL again this year with Sanborn Central and Wessington Springs juniors and seniors attending.
The program, Jr. REAL (Real Economic And Leadership) Development, was offered to the students in a one-day seminar event at no charge to the schools. Rachel Haigh Blume, the SD Farmers Union Director, lined up the seminar event in Woonsocket. This seminar-focused on leadership development, credit issues and identity theft, life skills (including community involvement) and self-motivation. All of this was presented through breakout sessions and a keynote speaker, giving each student personal and quality information to use as they move forward in their leadership journey.
Presenters included Wilson Kubwayo, Joy Smolnisky, Toby Kane and Malcom Chapman.
