Chloe Phillips, 13, of Sioux Falls is heading to the U.S. Judo Open Championships in Florida. Chloe is the daughter of Woonsocket High School graduate, Holly Hines, and granddaughter of Vickie Hines of Woonsocket.

Chloe is one of four people representing the Sioux Falls Judo Club and the only female from South Dakota competing at the championships.

Judo is very important to Chloe. She says that it has helped her build confidence. 

Her goals reach beyond the Judo Championships in Florida. Chloe aspires to compete in the 2020 and 2024 Olympics.

First, Chloe and her teammates have to get through the U.S. Judo Championships in Florida. But with all of her determination, the Olympics may be Chloe’s next stop.
