Minnesota State University-Moorhead (MSUM) held its Employee Recognition Luncheon on May 10, in the CMU Ballroom in Moorhead, Minn.
Among those recognized was Dr. T. J. Hansen, formerly of Letcher, as the university’s recipient of the Excellence in Teaching and Research Award. She was chosen for this award from the university’s 346 full- and part-time faculty members.
Hansen was honored for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in the economics seminar research course. Her students’ research has been published in peer-reviewed, undergraduate journals on multiple occasions.
In fall 2017, the Minnesota Economic Association and Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis recognized her student’s research as the third place term paper among all colleges and universities in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
As a Professor of Economics, she also teaches undergraduate courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics and public finance and graduate courses in healthcare economics and quantitative methods.
Hansen is the daughter of Janice Northrup and daughter-in-law of Thela Hansen, both of Mitchell.
