The Town ‘N Kountry Kids Red Crew 4-H Club met on Nov. 11 at the Community Center in Woonsocket.

The meeting was called to order by President Xavier Baysinger. The flag pledge was led by Kaitlyn Swenson, and the 4-H pledge was led by Isaiah Schultz.

Roll call was led by Vice President Bailey Feistner with the topic, “Favorite Part of Fall” which was answered by 29 members. The club welcomed new members Avery Miller, Chris Burkel, Tyson and Tyann Eddy, and Jalyn Grassel.

The secretary’s report was read by Secretary Brooklyn Swenson and approved as presented. The treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer Evan Ohlrogge and approved as presented.

Health/Safety Officer Hope Baysinger gave a health report and encouraged everyone to get a flu shot.  Evan O. and Corey Roberts reported on setting barrels. Tati Roberts and Acaiya Schultz talked about Recognition Event. The club received a thank you note from McCrossan Boys Ranch for the tie blankets.

For old business, the members discussed setting a date for a community service project at the nursing home. They talked about their plans for American Education Week to give all teachers and staff hand sanitizer with a note attached, and brownies for the break rooms. Everyone was reminded to complete their 4-H Online enrollment.

For new business, the members handed out premium money earned. They decided that the club is going to decorate a tree for Christmas at the Courthouse. Leader Paula Linke talked about some project ideas including making leather keychains, t-shirts and wood signs. She will work on dates.

After discussing a number of options, it was decided to purchase items for the Angel Tree at Woony Foods and purchase socks for residents at the nursing home for our Christmas Caring project.

There are two dates for shooting sports registration/safety nights at the 4-H Building:  Nov. 29 or Dec. 3. Members are invited to take part in a trapping workshop on either Dec. 2 or Dec. 9 at the 4-H Building.

Following the meeting, members prepared Thanksgiving cards for their elderly friends and wrote sponsor thank you notes. They prepared the hand sanitizer with notes for teachers and staff for American Education Week.  Corey Roberts presented an illustrated talk on making a wood pencil holder. Character Officers Megan Linke, Acaiya Schultz and Sutton Senska led a character activity on caring.  Recreation Officer Tati Roberts led a fun “no-hands, build a sundae” activity. All members participated in a Horticulture ID activity. To close out the day, some of the 4-H club members helped American Legion Post 29 take down the flags at the courthouse memorial for Veterans Day.
