The Union Farmhands met on June 13 at the 4H building.
The meeting was called to order by President Sawyer Senska at 7 p.m. Members answering roll call were Amber, Dana and Alex Schelske, Ladoux and Wiley Bracha, Catherine Bechen and Sawyer and Aubrey Senska.
Alex led the U.S. flag pledge and Catherine led the 4-H pledge.
Amber gave the treasurer’s report and Sawyer read the secretary’s report.
Members discussed old business which included the CIA ham drawing, calendar sales and caroling during Christmas.
In new business, the members have decided to make tie blankets as a community service project. Ivy will get the fabric and this project will be completed during the next meeting. The blankets will be given to local nursing homes.
Catherine presented an illustrated talk about her metal owl which she welded using horse shoes. This was part of her senior project.
Aubrey gave an illustrated talk on her 4-H calf memory board. It was completed using salvaged barn wood.
Ladoux and Wiley gave a talk about their chickens. They brought an egg that did not have a hard shell that they found while picking eggs.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m., with a motion by Ladoux and second from Wiley.
Treats were served by Aubrey and Sawyer.
