The regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 met on May 28, following the Memorial Day program and lunch. President Dawn Rassel led the opening ceremonies.
The minutes of the May meeting were read and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given by Barb Maurice and accepted. No bills were presented for payment.
Bobbi Jo White gave a report on a successful Poppy Day distribution with thanks expressed for the volunteers that helped. A thank you will be published in the local paper.
The June newsletter from District 6 President Linda Holmes was read. The Department Convention will be held in Spearfish on June 7-9. All are encouraged to fly the flag on Flag Day, June 14.
A memorial service was held for Ruth Berg, with President Dawn Rassel and Chaplain Judy Stenzel leading the ceremony.
The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m., in the Woonsocket Community Center on Sept. 4.
Cookies for the PVHC Bingo will be furnished in June by Valerie Mann and Myrna Knigge. In July, they will be furnished by Judy Hinker and Karen Kogel, and in August, cookies will be furnished by Lynn Brueske and Connie Swenson.
Following the closing ceremonies, President Dawn Rassel adjourned the meeting.
