Due to several weather issues and rescheduling conflicts, the Sanborn Central drama students had to perform their school play on Monday, May 6, at 10 a.m. Normally, there would be a performance at a time when more community members could come and enjoy the entertainment.
This year’s play was titled, “How to Mess Up Pretty Much Anything,” and it was centered around 10 students talking about ways they can mess up anything. During their performance of scenarios proving they can mess up anything, their principal calls a cast member, played by Abby Vermeulen, and he tells them they need to find a better topic for a school play. The cast can’t think of anything else to talk about, so they continue with their original plan and find ways to prove their point and win the principal’s approval.
This was Mrs. Miller’s first year directing the play for Sanborn Central, so they kept the performance simple but entertaining. It was a learning experience for everyone involved, including the audience, with the lessons in the content of the play.
