For the week of Jan. 14-19, the WSWWW wrestlers suffered from illness and had to take a week off from competition. This proved to possibly be an obstacle that could take some time for the team to overcome.
On Saturday, Jan. 26, the varsity team traveled to Aberdeen for a 17-team tournament, where they only had four boys place.
On that same day, the junior varsity team traveled to Groton for a 13-team tournament. They proved to have a better performance with five wrestlers placing in the top four of their weight class, and the team placing sixth out of 13 teams.
The wrestlers see their next mat action with a quadrangular in Kimball on Thursday, Jan. 31, and they will be traveling to Ft. Pierre for a tournament on Saturday, Feb. 2.
