Woonsocket – “Power Town” is an educational outreach program offered by Central Electric Cooperative in partnership with its wholesale power provider, East River Electric Power Cooperative. The presentation was delivered to the fourth, fifth and sixth grade classes at Woonsocket Elementary on March 10.
This program teaches children about the dangers of electricity in town and on the farm. By the end of the presentation, students developed a new understanding and appreciation for electricity.
Safety is a key component of the cooperative’s educational outreach efforts. Educational sessions are offered to area schools to help spread the word about electrical safety.
Central Electric Cooperative is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative that provides electric power to Aurora, Brule, Buffalo, Jerauld, Sanborn, Miner, Hanson and Davison Counties.
