Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., with Vice-Chairman Steve Larson presiding. Present were Paul Larson and Gary Blindauer. Auditor Kami Moody was present, as well as Duane Peterson. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to approve the minutes from the December 6 meeting, as presented. Motion carried.

CITIZEN INPUT 

Brian Pearson, Alex Burkel, Alan Larson, Heath Larson, and Rick Miller, all Highway Department employees, were present to address some concerns about the personnel manual. 

OPENING BIDS FOR  4-H BUILDING

One bid was received from C. Eagle Construction, for $748,130.00. Motion P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer to table the current bid. Motion carried. 

HIGHWAY

Stacy Mendenhall, Highway Superintendent and Sheri Kogel, Highway Administrative Assistant, met with the board. Mendenhall gave updates on the snow removal process that the highway department is working on. 

BROSZ ENGINEERING

Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to sign the agreement form for the 221st street bridge for the preservation project. Motion carried.

Motion by Blindauer, seconded by P. Larson, to sign the notice to proceed for the 221st street bridge project. Motion carried. 

Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer to sign the contract with Brosz Engineering to provide Construction Engineering Services for the 221st street bridge preservation project. Motion carried. 

Motion by Blindauer, seconded by P. Larson, to move forward with Brosz Engineering to provide a design and repair process for Bridge #56-174-210 on 241st street. Motion carried.
