The Lady Blackhawks traveled to Ethan last Monday night, Jan. 29 to face Coach Tom Young and his Ethan Rustlers. The Lady Blackhawks had a tough time getting anything going in their favor as they battled their CBH Conference rival. After all the hair pulling, elbowing, and bear hugging was done by Ethan’s defense, the Rustlers came out on top with a final score of 30-61.
Thursday night brought the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars to Sanborn Central for a doubleheader. With the Jaguars entering the competition with a 13-2 record, the Lady Blackhawks had a tough battle ahead of them, and although they finished with a loss, they did not make it easy for the Jaguars. The Lady Blackhawks were ahead by two at the end of the third quarter, but some costly turnovers in the fourth quarter took their toll, so the game ended with a final score of 31-40, Jaguars.
Saturday night saw the Lady Blackhawks in Wolsey for a double header with the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds. These two teams had already met in the 281 Conference tournament in January with the Lady Blackhawks winning, and the SCW girls had the same outcome with this foe on Saturday night. They struggled a bit with some cohesiveness, but they still ended with the victory and a final score of 44-37.
