On Wednesday, Sept. 7, the Blackhawks Cross Country runners competed in the 281 Conference meet in Wessington Springs. The boys’ varsity team placed second behind Highmore-Harrold, and the girls’ varsity team placed third just three points behind Wessington Springs. 

Individual results for the boys’ race were Jeffrey Boschee bringing home second place, Carter Hitchcock finishing in 11th place, Sam Baruth earning 14th place and Cody Slykhuis running with a 22nd place finish. 

Individual results for the girls were Hannah Terkildsen ending the race in 11th place, Acaiya Schultz finishing in 12th place and Hudson Fouberg earned a 15th place finish.

Both teams traveled to Arlington on Monday, Sept. 12, for their next race, and they go to Chamberlain today (Thursday) to run in the Chamberlain Invitational. Their only event scheduled for next week is the Fish Lake Invite on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
