On Friday, Sept. 9, Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks met the McCook Central/Montrose Cougars on the grid iron at Sanborn Central.
The Blackhawks went into the game plagued by injuries, with seniors Camden Jost and Hayden Beigh sidelined for the game. The Blackhawks played with heart, but the Cougars proved to be too tough. Cougars’ rushing powerhouse Jackson Remmers scored early in the first quarter, and the team never looked back, defeating the Blackhawks with a final score 38-0.
The Blackhawks’ record is now 2-2, so far for the season, and they will be hosting Miller/Highmore-Harrold at Wessington Springs at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 16.
