Although Mobridge-Pollock scored early in the game with the only touchdown scored in the first quarter, the WWSSC Blackhawks answered with three trips to the end zone in the second quarter with no response from the Tigers, ending the first half with a score of 18-6, Blackhawks.
The Tigers came out fighting in the second half, scoring 18 points in the fourth quarter, but the Blackhawks soared through with 24 points of their own in the second half to finish the game with a 42-24 Homecoming win.
Camden Jost worked hard for the Blackhawks on offense scoring three of their six touchdowns in the game. He scored the team’s first points with a four-yard run in the second quarter. The extra points attempt failed. The next six points for the Blackhawks came with another Jost run, this time for two yards. Once again, the two-point conversion didn’t work, but the quarter wasn’t over. Before the half, the Blackhawks scored one more time, with an 18-yard pass from Holden Havlik to Blake Larson. The Blackhawks were stopped again on the two-point conversion, but they went into halftime with an 18-6 lead against the Tigers.
In the third quarter, Jost started the scoring for WWSSC with a one-yard run into the end zone. He finished things off catching a pass from Havlik for the two-point conversion, and the Blackhawks were up 26-6. Later in the third, Brady Larson ran 10 yards to find the end zone for six. The two-point conversion pass from Havlik to Ryder Michalek was good to finish the third quarter and put the Blackhawks up 34-6.
The final points for the Blackhawks came in a two-yard run from Tyson Eddy and a successful two-point conversion pass from Havlik to Blake Larson to bring the Blackhawks ahead, 42-18. The Tigers scored the last points of the game, but they weren’t enough to catch the WWSSC boys, and the Blackhawks won their Homecoming game 42-24.
