Trevor Easton had four touchdowns, including two on fumble returns to lead the Hawks to a big 52-20 homecoming win over Highmore-Harrold, Friday night at Woonsocket.
The Blackhawks got off to a quick start early in the first quarter scoring on a 45-yard pass from Todd Stekl to Easton. A second Stekl pass to Jevon Hohn sealed the two- point conversion.
The Hawk defense easily held the Pirates out of scoring range throughout the first half, giving the offense plenty of opportunities to make plays.
WWSSC got a second chance to score in the first on a six-yard pass from Stekl to Hohn. A run from Levi Olinger added the extra two points to the board.
As the defense continued to serve up goose eggs for the Pirates, the offense really went to work in the second quarter, with four TDs.
Easton made touchdown number two on a 20-yard run, followed by a six-yard Tyler Krueger scoring run. While the first conversion failed the second, a Stekl pass to Bailey Willman, was good.
Easton then got ahold of the first of two Pirate fumbles he would run back for a TD. The first was for 36-yards and was capped by a Jared Bechen conversion run.
Easton’s final score of the night came on a huge 98-yard fumble return. Bechen again ran in the two points to top off 46 unanswered first half points by the Blackhawks.
The Pirates were allowed some scoring opportunities after the half. Two touchdown runs by Michael Weidenbach, and one conversion put some points on the visitor’s side of the board.
WWSSC came around in the fourth with a 50-yard run by Ty Swenson.
The final score was sealed after another Weidenbach TD run.
Easton ended an extraordinary evening with seven carries for 77 yards and 134 yards of fumble returns to make up his four touchdowns.
Stekl completed 2-of-4 passing for 51 yards and two TDs.
Landon Ochsner led the defense with eight tackles.
The Blackhawks finished with 267 rushing yards.
H-H’s Weidenback had 14 carries for 74 yards.
