Joyce Carol Fredrikson, 84, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., passed away Monday, June 26, 2017, at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Inver Grove Heights.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion, with burial to follow in Bluffview Cemetery in Vermillion. Visitation began at 9 a.m., prior to the funeral services.
Joyce was born Feb. 20, 1933, on a farm north of Lake Wilson, Minn. She was the youngest of five children with three older sisters: Margaret, Lois and Shirley and brother, Wayne.
Joyce and Bob Beach were married, Jan. 11, 1952, in Hadley, Minn. While Bob was in the military, the couple lived in Georgia, New Jersey and Germany. After his discharge from the military, the couple settled into their life at Chandler, Minn., where they began raising their family. They lived in Miller, Woonsocket and Vermillion. Bob died in November of 1986, and Joyce remained in Vermillion, where she did secretarial work for the Luther Center and Prison Congreation.
In May of 1992, Joyce married Burt Fredrikson.
Joyce’s children, grandchildren and her faith were very important to her. She also enjoyed assisting with the church activities, having coffee with friends, fishing, playing cards and Scrabble.
Joyce is survived by one son, Randy (Becky) Beach of Baudette, Minn.; two daughters, Kim Beach of Mitchell and Susan (David) Jacky of Vermillion, Minn.; three grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley (Len) Claxton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; sisters, Margaret and Lois; and brother, Wayne.
