Anna Marie (Goethals) Dobson, 88, of Letcher, passed away at home, Saturday, March 21, 2020, surrounded by her family and friends.

Anna’s ashes will be buried with her mother and father in Letcher.

Anna was born on a farm north of Letcher on Nov. 12, 1931, to Edward and Germaine (Van Laecken) Goethals and lived in Letcher with her two brothers, Jack and Edwin, and two sisters, Jannette and Margaret. She graduated from Letcher High School in 1950 and married Dale Dobson, also of Letcher, later that year on Aug. 7, 1950.

Together, Anna and Dale Dobson had three children, Keith Dobson (Tammy Stanford), Teri Mitzel (Marvin) and Tracy Mill (Kevin). Anna and Dale lived in Sioux Falls until they moved to Fort Collins, Colo., in 1962. While living in Colorado, Anna enjoyed going to the mountains and fishing. Later in life, she enjoyed reading and crocheting.

She graduated from nursing school in 1972 and worked in nursing until she went to work for Steels Market in Fort Collins, where she retired after 27 years. She purchased a home in Wellington, Colo., in 1974 and lived there until her death.

At the time of her death, she had four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Frances Goethals; sister and brother-in-law, Jannette and Don Anton; brother, Edwin; daughter-in-law, Karen Dobson; son-in-law, Mike Farmer; grandson, Nathan Dobson; an infant granddaughter; and an infant grandson.

Gregory H. Weiland, 68, of Rapid City, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020.

A celebration of life will be held this summer.

Gregory was born March 11, 1951, to Harold and Valeria (Erps) Weiland in Scotland. He was raised in Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1969. After graduating college, he joined the Weiland family painting business and eventually took over until his retirement in 2016. He served as President of the Jaycees and the Rapid City Trap Club. He was a faithful member of St. Terese Church.

He loved hunting, fishing, camping, riding his Harley and the other toys he collected along the way. He enjoyed his yearly rides and gatherings during the Sturgis motorcycle rally.

He is survived by his two sisters, Deb (Tim) Callahan and Nancy (Larry) VanOverschelde; a brother, Brad Weiland; four nephews, Brian, Brad, Philip and Cody; six nieces, Katie, Krista, Lora, Anna, Lisa and Ashley; eight great-nieces; six great-nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marilyn “Midge” Plagmann, 79, of Mitchell, passed away March 25, 2020, at Firesteel Healthcare Community.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell with burial at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at First Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.

Marilyn Plagmann, daughter of Roy and Emma (Jarabek) Jacobson, was born Oct. 17, 1940, in Sanborn County. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1958.

Midge was united in marriage with Paul Plagmann in 1958 at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. The couple made their home in Mitchell. Midge was employed as a salesclerk at Newberry’s Department Store and also as an usher at the Corn Palace. The couple later moved to Huron where she was employed at Osborn Clothing Store. They then moved to Yankton, and Midge was employed at Bomgaars Supply. The couple later owned and operated the Twin Lake Resort near Woonsocket. They sold their business in September of 1993 and moved to Mitchell. While in Mitchell, they were employed part-time at the Anthony Motel. Afterwards, Midge managed Musick Apartments for fifteen years before retiring.

Midge enjoyed fishing, reading and crocheting. 

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Mitchell and the Elizabeth Circle at the church.

Midge is survived by her husband, Paul Plagmann of Mitchell; a daughter, Michelle Garnett of Rapid City; a son, Michael (Amy) Plagmann of Mitchell; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a step grandchild; a brother, Kenneth Jacobson of Aberdeen; and a sister-in-law, Carmen Johnson of Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryce Engleman; her parents; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Jacobson; and a brother-in-law, Les Johnson.
