Ronald Chesly Noell, Jr., 55, of Dayton, Wyo., passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, while snowshoeing in the Big Horn Mountains.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service in Dayton, Wyo., will be determined at a later date. Kane Funeral Home was entrusted with local arrangements.

Ron was born to Ronald Sr. and Delilah Hennrietta (Hathaway) Noell on Oct. 18, 1964, in Ft. Hood, Texas. Ron was raised in Artesian. Ron married Gale Irene White in September of 2004 in Jamaica. They have one son. Ron was employed by Boeing and worked on F-18 jets for over 30 years in St. Louis. Upon early retirement, Ron and his family left St. Charles, Mo., and moved to Dayton, Wyo., in April 2019.

His interests were collecting guns, and he enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles. Ron loved the Big Horn Mountains. He hiked, took his son skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hunting and fishing.

Ron is survived by his wife, Gale, and son, Logan Mathew, of Dayton, Wyo.; mother-in-law, Sandra Hersey, several cousins in Wyoming and South Dakota, along with other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ron Noell, Sr.

Madelyn May Nickelson, 92, of Woonsocket and formerly of Huron, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Woonsocket.

A private family service was held on Wednesday, March 25, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. 

Madelyn May Wier, the daughter of Hugh and Erma (Tillotson) Wier, was born on Dec. 22, 1927, in Spencer. She attended school and graduated from Spencer High School in 1944.  Madelyn also attended Mitchell Business College and worked for law offices in Mitchell and Huron.  She also worked for the State Department of Social Services for many years until her retirement in 1989.

Madelyn married L.J. “Nick” Nickelson on Feb. 5, 1951, in Huron. 

Madelyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Madelyn enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and traveling.

Madelyn is survived by her four daughters; Gloria (Gerald)  Klaas of Woonsocket, Pat Remington of Huron, Michele (Randy) Jankord of Brandon and Pat Johnson of Yuma, Ariz.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lenore Robertson of Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.

Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nick in 1993; daughter, DeAnn Brink; grandson, Kevin Brink; two brothers, George and Leslie Wier; and son-in-law, Dean Remington.

Terry Lee Kludt, 72, of Woonsocket and formerly of Alpena, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Visitation was held at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Due to the Coronavirus/CDC recommendation, a private funeral service was held for family and close friends on Tuesday, March 24, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with burial at the Resthaven Cemetery in Alpena.    

Terry Lee Kludt, the son of Elmer and Margaret (Rieck) Kludt, was born on Sept. 6, 1947, in Huron.

He attended school and graduated from Alpena High School. Terry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in February of 1970. Terry worked as a farmer for many years until his retirement from Stan’s Inc. Terry also worked for Peterson Brothers Construction and ground hay for many years.

Terry was a member of the American Legion in Alpena. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Terry loved the outdoors and was a passionate gardener.  Farming was his greatest joy. Terry was a mellow person and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. Terry also loved spending time with his family and friends.

Terry is survived by his three children, Tawney (Loren) Beitelspacher of Aberdeen, Steven (Mallie) Kludt of Brandon, and Kami (Preston) Moody of Woonsocket; his eight grandchildren; three brothers, Tim (Cheryle) Kludt of El Paso, Texas, Tony (Barbara) Kludt of Miller, and Joel (Lory) Kludt of Clarksville, Tenn.; four sisters, Barbara (John) Stupero of Rush City, Minn., Peggy (David) Ninke of Webster, Betty (Glen) Macauley of Yoncalla, Ore., and Ellen (Craig Newstrom) Kludt of St. Francis, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Brian Peterson.
