The junior high team traveled to Alexandria to participate in the Hanson Eager Beaver meet on Monday, April 22, and then head to Wessington Springs again on Monday, April 29, to compete in the 281 Conference meet.

The Blackhawks varsity team was supposed to participate in two track meets last week, the Howard Relays in Howard and the Greenway Relays in Mt. Vernon; however, rain led to both meets being canceled. To replace the missed track meets, the varsity SCW team joined a meet in Miller on Tuesday, April 23, and they then travel to Miller for a second time in a week to compete in the Rearick/Warbird Relays on Friday, April 26.

On Tuesday, April 9, the SCW Blackhawks enjoyed their first official varsity track meet of the season in Chester.  It was a good start for the Blackhawks with the boys’ team finishing in fifth place and the girls ending the day in seventh place as a team.

The weather has been a little uncooperative with the first track meets for both the varsity and junior high having to be cancelled, but it looks like things should start to get going for the Blackhawk tracksters. The high winds and rainy forecast did cancel the Howard Relays that were supposed to take place on Tuesday, April 16, but hopefully things will die down weatherwise, and the spring schedules can get back on track. If so, the varsity team will be competing in the Greenway Relays in Mt. Vernon on Friday, April 19, and the junior high kids will be in Alexandria for the Hanson Eager Beaver meet on Monday, April 22.
