Tricia Brisbine, St. Paul, Minn., has been selected by the Association of Maternal and Child Health as a Family Scholar for the 2012-2013 program year.
Brisbine’s application for the program was endorsed by Family Voices of Minnesota, as well as the director of Children and Youth with Special Health Needs section of the Minnesota Department of Health.
The Family Scholars Program selected only 12 individuals from across the nation based on leadership experience, involvement with Title V programs and experience working with families of diverse backgrounds.
As part of the scholarship, Brisbine will work toward enhancing leadership skills to promote policies, programs and systems at the national, state and local level that addresses important issues impacting the health and well-being of women, children and families, including children and youth with special health care needs.
Brisbine will attend the AMCHP 2013 Annual Conference at Washington, D.C. in February as part of the program.
