A large group of children and several parents gathered for the Lutheran/Methodist Parish’s first, First Wednesday Family Night at the Bethany Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
A fall supper was enjoyed followed by a mini worship service led by Pastor Rhonda.  Then everyone bundled up and climbed aboard the hay trailer for a ride to the pumpkin patch.
Upon arriving at the patch, the children fanned out across the field searching for the “prize” pumpkin. Searching the field was quite a challenge as the wind had shifted to the northwest and was bearing down on the group at 40+ miles per hour. No one was lost in the dust storm and the group of happy children and valiant adults made their way back into town.
We really appreciate everyone who helped to make this event happen, especially Swenson Produce for opening up their pumpkin patch for the scavengers.
The next Family Night will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Bethany beginning at 6 p.m.  Everyone is welcome.
