The Union Farmhands 4-H Club met Nov. 11 in the home of Rachelle and Dillon Moore with Catherine and Jarid Bechen hosting.
The meeting was called to order by President Rachelle Moore. The flag salute was led by Jarid Bechen. Dillon Moore led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was, “How many cats do you have?” and was answered by Catherine and Jarid Bechen, Kelbi Dean, Caleb and Toby Kneen, Sarah Morgan, Jessica and Katie Schmit and Sawyer Senska. Ashley Schmit gave the treasurer’s report.
Old business discussed was that the picture for the community calendar was taken and advertisers will be contacted with the price of ads increasing to $30. T-shirts were worn to school during National 4-H week to promote 4-H.
A demonstration on the new online enrollment process was given by Pam Moore.
Election of officers was held at the beginning of the new business with the following results: President Rachelle Moore, Vice President Kelbi Dean, Secretary/Treasurer Jessica Schmit and Treasurer Ashley Schmit.
The club welcomed new members Caleb and Toby Kneen.
Discussion was held on serving cookies for the Ham Drawing on Dec. 15 in the Artesian Community Center. Jessica Schmit will order 12 dozen cookies for the event.
The club Christmas party was discussed. Kelbi Dean will contact Countryside Living about caroling there on Dec. 16. After caroling it was decided to go to a movie and pizza. Rachelle Moore will check on the availability of the movie theater.
The club will sell calendars at the Ham Drawing and also at the basketball doubleheader on Dec. 17 at Sanborn Central.
Sarah Morgan and Jessica Schmit motioned to adjourn the meeting.
The next meeting will be held at Moore’s on Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. with Sawyer Senska hosting.
