Bernice W. Wormstadt, 95, of Rapid City, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Meadowbrook.
Marie Bernice Wehr was born on Sept. 2, 1917, to Oscar and Kezia (Miller) Wehr in their home near Esmond.
She attended high school in Iroquois. She later attended college at Northern Teacher’s College at Aberdeen and taught school in Edmunds County, Beadle County and Sanborn County.
She married Maynard Wormstadt on Sept. 28, 1944 and resided on a farm north of Artesian.
She is survived by her son, Dale (Kathy) Wormstadt; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
No local funeral services will be held. Her body has been dedicated to medical science research at the University of South Dakota. A memorial service will be arranged by Welter’s Funeral Home at Huron at a later date.
Kirk Funeral Home at Rapid City is in charge of local arrangements.
