Caroline Luella Mathida Zell, 89, of Howard, formerly of the Canova area, died Saturday, June 30, 2013, in the Howard Good Samaritan Society Home at Howard.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Canova, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church.
Caroline Zell was born in Floyd Township, Sanborn County, near Artesian, on Aug. 14, 1923, to Charles and Anna (Seigert) Zell. She was baptized in her home at Artesian and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Iroquois. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She was a Lutheran League member and a member of the Ladies Aid.
She enjoyed farm life, quilting, sewing, gardening, watching  birds and caring for flowers.
She is survived by her sister, Eleanor, of Howard, and many cousins and friends.
