DES MOINES, IOWA – Healthy, volunteer blood donors are needed to provide lifesaving blood and blood products to hospital patients in our community. Only 38 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood but less than 10 percent donate annually.
Blood donation matters every day for cancer patients undergoing treatment, for accident and trauma patients, and for individuals being treated for various blood disorders. You can make a difference in your community and help save the lives of hospital patients in need by donating blood.
Please plan to give your lifesaving gift at the next VanDyke’s Taxidermy/Woonsocket Community Blood Drive. The blood drive will take place on Wednesday, March 20 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Bloodmobile at Van Dyke’s Taxidermy, 39771 SD Hwy. 34.
The Blood Center of Iowa joined operations with Siouxland Community Blood Bank in April 2010 to become LifeServe Blood Center. As one of the 15th largest blood centers in the country, LifeServe Blood Center provides blood and blood products to more than 90 hospitals located across Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. LifeServe is committed to providing premier service to volunteer blood donors and access to a safe, quality blood supply for hospitals and patients.
For more information about blood donation or to schedule an appointment to donate blood, call 800.287.4903 or visit www.lifeservebloodcenter.org.
