Burglaries reported at two homes

The Sanborn County Sheriff’s office was called to two Woonsocket homes Friday morning after residents noticed their homes had been entered and items were missing.
Claude Forbes and Dee Baysinger woke up in their rural Woonsocket home to find a sliding glass door open and a downstairs light on. Upon further investigation they noticed Dee’s purse was missing along with Claude’s money clip with cash in it.
The purse was later recovered, having been tossed outside of the house. The only things missing were cash and Claude’s fishing license.
That same morning, a break-in was reported at the Kent and Gay Swenson home on the edge of Woonsocket. A door was reportedly left open and a light on. The only thing reported to be missing was an old deactivated cell phone.
Gay and Dee are sisters, so it is a concern that the perpetrator is an acquaintance. Dee says she has every intention of prosecuting the intruder if he or she is caught, “to the fullest extent of the law.”
According to Sanborn County Sheriff Tom Fridley, the investigation remains open. If anyone has any information about these break-ins ,they are encouraged to call the Sheriff’s office at 605-796-4511.
