Lois Wheeler, 87, of Huron died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 in SunQuest Healthcare Center, Huron.
There will be a private family service at a later date with burial in Riverside Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Lois M. Wheeler was born on Jan. 12, 1926 in Sioux City, Iowa to Bill and Myrtle (Jones) Byerly. She moved with her family to Huron and attended Huron Public Schools.
Lois married Donald Wheeler on April 17, 1944 in Huron, where she raised her sons.
Lois loved to read.
She is survived by her sons, Kim (Cheryl Kahle) of Piedmont, Steve (Peggy Hoffmann) Wheeler of Muscatine, Iowa and Tom Wheeler of Huron; five grandchildren, Justin (Becky) Wheeler of England, Casey (Bud) Miller of Woonsocket, Shantel (Tony) Tschetter of Hitchcock, Kristen (Travis) Mason of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Dustin Wheeler of Sioux Falls; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Madelyn (Rudy) Kraft of Oregon, Marlene Wilson of Huron, Dorothy (Don) Christensen of Gregory; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald in 1962; brothers, Vic, Don, Paul and William Byerly; and sisters, Muriel Olmstead and June Hanson.
